Friday, February 13, 2009 Maricopa, AZ:
The Congress passed and the President of the United States, signed a law delaying the DTV Transition for broadcast television signals from analog to digital from February 17, 2009 to June 12, 2009. Orbitel and its customers will not be affected by the delay. Orbitel customers do not need to do anything to continue to receive their broadcast TV signals. All TVs connected to Orbitel will continue to receive all of the broadcast TV channels as they receive them today. Orbitel has installed the equipment to receive and transmit the digital broadcast signals and also down convert those same signals in an analog format. The good news for Orbitel customers is that they receive today all local broadcast signals in both the digital and analog format as part of their standard monthly service fees. Even after the broadcasters stop delivering their signals in the analog format, Orbitel will continue to make the analog services available to our customers for many years to come.
