Tuesday June 9, 2009 Maricopa, Arizona:
On Friday June 12, all Phoenix broadcast TV stations will cease operation of their analog transmitters and convert all off-the-air broadcast TV signals to digital. Orbitel customers do not need to take any action. No additional equipment is needed for any existing television set connected to Orbitel. Orbitel will receive all off-the-air signals in their digital format and deliver them to our customers in either their existing analog format or their new digital format. All televisions connected to Orbitel will receive the same services on the same channels in the same way after the DTV transition as they did before the DTV transition.
It is possible that there may be brief interruptions on some of these channels while the broadcasters do their work on Friday. The broadcasters are making their migration all day on June 12. Some broadcasters are starting as early as 12:01 am while others are planned for their migration as late as 11:59 pm. By the time all customers awake on Saturday June 13, the digital migration will be complete. Orbitel expects that customers will see no impact upon their service as a result of this change.
